Fiddle
An accomplished fiddler, Kirsty has extensive experience in the music industry. She has played for a number of folk and ceilidh bands at home and abroad, including the long-running ‘Taste of Scotland’ show at the Prestonfield Hotel. She has recorded with many prominent Scottish artists. Kirsty is equally at home playing jazz and classical music and is a well respected violin teacher.
Accordion
Sandy, from Kirkliston, West Lothian, is one of Scotland’s best-known accordionists, famous for his lightning-fast playing. As well as playing for a number of folk and ceilidh bands throughout the world, Sandy runs Brechin All Records, one of Scotland’s most successful independent folk music labels. A renowned composer, he is also a highly experienced piano accordion tutor.
Bass guitar
Bob is much in demand throughout Edinburgh and beyond for his skills on both bass guitar and the ‘big’ double bass in genres including folk, ceilidh, rock, pop and jazz. His credits including Runrig, the BBC Hogmanay Show, Take the Floor and Outlander. He also has a number of recording credits with various bands.
Caller
Cath, born and bred in Edinburgh, is qualified teacher of various dance forms including Scottish Country, Highland, Ballet and Contemporary – and has performed as a dancer throughout Europe and as far afield as Australia, Peru and South Korea. She combines an extensive knowledge of ceilidh dances old and new with an easy, unfussy calling style.
